Well said!
As long as I have my health, family and friends, and a job I enjoy I'm a happy man!

wow, sorry to hear that happened Greg, i'm glad your ok though.
Some people are just a*holes (can i say that here)?
I remember my dad telling me that one of his female work friends was sitting at a taxi rank one night by herself, and some drugo walked past and smashed a bottle on her head, she ended up being pretty injured as one could imagine.

I've heard a few of those stories too unfortunately it was from the drunks that were doing the idiocy, of course they think it's funny.

Hence one of the reasons I like being more of a morning person, do not really miss late nights out (as nothing good every comes from it anyways), and always am aware of everything going on around me (without being stressed out about it of course).

I tell my students that once you reach a point in life of having responsibility (like being a teacher), nothing good can happen while you are out after midnight.

Some great thoughts. That's one of the few "issues" that I have with adhering to a 100% clean lifestyle. I'm constantly out late in places that put me in risky situations.
Luckily my good friend owns a house in the Pocono's (a mountainous area in PA) and we're going up for the weekend to do some caveman activities like chopping wood and cooking meat over a fire. My one friend eats 100% paleo like me so him and I should be enjoying some tasty Paleo meals while the other eat there burgers!
It will be good to clear my head (no pun intended!) for the weekend.

Nothing wrong with going out late with friends...just know the situation changes the later it gets...different environment that doing something during the day.
At some point...I made the choice...to have friends that more reflected my goals...and started hanging out less "bar friends" as they did not bring anything to the table other than being a drinking buddy once in a while....they won't like you leaving their group...but don't worry...you will be soon forgotten and someone else will take your place.
