As far as the respiratory function test, I am required to maintain a respirator qualification at work. Part of my yearly (bi-yearly maybe) exam is a test where you blow into a machine until you can't blow any more. I forget the actual name of it. But I have passed with pretty good numbers every year. I don't remember having any specific lung scans. I'll look more into the ACV and give it a try.
Thank You

I meant smoking not cancer in my post but I think you knew that.

As far as the ACV goes...whatever you do, DO NOT take shots of this. Dilution is the key. It will burn otherwise.

Mucous is more stage one of the body saying it doesn't want something....but after that inital warning is ignored it may not happen down the road as much. Dump the dairy and I bet you see tremendous improvement as it has been linked to asthma like conditions (inflammation) esp when exercising.

Winter riding was always very hard for me because of excercise induced asthma. This is the first winter I've had in years without any issues. I follow the Paleo for athletes guide for carb intake and have added ACV and fish oil to my daily intake. Its great to be able to ride without an inhaler in my camelbak. BTW, I'm turning 40 this summer. Good luck firguring this out Gary, it sounds like you're on the way.

Thanks again fellas. I'll do some re-shopping this weekend for my foodstuffs. If I start cleaning up next week hopefully I'll come around by March or so. I do appreciate all the advice.
