Default What's the word on dairy?

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

I know the paleo diet is against all dairy products; however, as a weightlifter, I find it hard to get all my protein from just meats. Are products such as low-fat/ low sodium cottage cheese, milk and eggs from grass fed animals really all that bad? And if so, why?

I'm not sure you can find a more controversial topic than milk and eggs. The general consensus from what I've seen is go for it if it sits well with you. There is an overwhelming amount of educated opinion on both sides of the debate, from what I've seen.

I've also heard dairy products in general make you look "puffy" but the above mentioned dairy products seem to be good sources of protein, which I've been having a hrad time getting enough of

Getting fat makes you look puffy. Some who get really inflamed may get a little "puffy", but more or less it's water under the skin or just getting fat.

i'm with the other guys. if you can pound milk and eggs and you feel solid, then live your life. just listen to your body and don't ignore bad signs. too much dairy messes with my stomach. i use hemp protein now, and my stomach feels fine.
