What's the deal with starting the press at the face level?

Rules were just to start below the chin. He's reaching for it, but the bar's below his chin when he starts. Who cares, I don't know of anyone else who can do a 405 strict standing press...

ps. what's the deal with weak people belittling strong people (he overhead presses 100+ your back squat??)? what's the deal with cell phones?

Belittling? Are you PMSing or something? I just asked a fucking question.

The guy's an animal. I'm assuming everyone's seen this video, but if not - the muscle snatch at 150kg (2:16 into the clip) is still one of the most impressive things I've seen.

Sure...water...right.

Gavin, pressing from the chin level is (I'm guessing) akin to doing something like a two- or three-board bench. It's simply a different lift than a press that begins touching the upper chest, as the major sticking point of the full press is avoided. Just because guys here can't do that type of weight doesn't mean they can't ask questions.

If that's their rules, cool, sure, no problem. It lets guys put up bigger weights...if that's what floats their boat, fine.

Could that rule also have come about because many of these guys cannot actually bring a bar to touch their chest in a pressing position? Just wondering...
