Default Is shorter better?

Do the benefits of IF increase as the eating window descreases? That is, would it be better to eat between 1 - 4 pm than between 12 - 6 pm? Or is there a threshold beyond which the benefits don't increase significantly?

No one knows for sure…yet! I suspect that food quality (low-ish carb) will facilitate the process and allow for benefits even at shorter fast intervals, but again there is no hard information on this. The May issue of the Performance Menu looks at this question in detail and also looks at two separate IF schedules (one alternate day, the other fasts that are on average 15 hrs) that have produced some impressive results. My gut instinct tells me that the shorter the window the better but that makes it VERY challenging to get in 3,500-4000cals. Time will tell!
