Come to terms with your genetics. You'll be much happier.

Unless your genetics suck... My dad 5'3" and my mom is 5'2", so much for my basketball career. This is why I'm moving to China and getting gene therapy. I'm going to be 6'8" and 350 lbs. There's hope for me yet!

Do the opposite that you did to gain the muscle.
1. Calorie restriction.
2. Focus on LSD.
The truth of the matter is that your skeleton and connective tissue has permanently changed because of the lifting, so there will be some weight that won't come off.
I remember Greg Lamonde talking about how he'd put on muscle during his off season and would have to get rid of it before he could successfully race again.

it's weird. XC is one of the most instense endurance biased sports but you look at the muscle tone of the top guys and their upper bodies stay realtively developed. from the prevalence of double pole work. (now now...don't be nasty)..
I've tried it a little over the years as i switched to strength biased sports and it's very soothing. takes advantage of a strong psoterior chain and hips but man I gassed quickly. Skated skied a moderate difficulty 5K course last christmas that just about killed my fat ass.

That's cross country skiing.
Human powered snow travel is primarily anaerobic.
