Default Can't get Werksan spin collars tight

I have the Werksan training spin collars with the ring tightener ($115/pair), and can't get a really solid hold for reps - they're solid (and very pretty) but I actually get about as good hold with my much cheaper spring collars and plastic Muscle Clamps. It's the single ring tightener - I've tried other spin collars with 2-4 wingnut tighteners per collar and they lock down tight. Am I missing something or is this a common problem? I'm about to put them on Craigslist and get some $50 York 2-wingnut lock spin collars.

Kenyon, I've used the werksan spin lock collars with no issues. Maybe it's a manufacturing issue?

Check out the quick release barbell collars. They're cheap and practical. See my quick release barbell collars review.
