Default New guy

Hello all just a quick question. I have been using the 5,3,1 for some time now and have been playing around with o lifts on my off days. I am 178pds and am 40pds shy of a 1000pd total. My question is which cycle should I start with. I have been doing mostly power snatches and want to get better at full. Thank u in advance.

Which cycle you should start with? Mind elaborating on what your numbers are with for each lift being press, bench, squat, deadlift, c&j, snatch?

I'm sorry, but your question doesn't really make sense.

Derek this program goes in cycles if I am not mistaken and suggests for new folks not to jump right in to one. My numbers are 455dead 350 squat and 170for my press. My clean and jerk is 225 and my power snatch is 190. I don't have a number for the full snatch because I don't do them but want to. So I am wondering which cycle should I start to follow Ie Classic position 5 week program etc. Hope this clears things up.

Sorry for taking up your time. I must be confused and maybe on the wrong forum. I will just start with tomorrow's workout and see how it goes.

Let your current cycle finish I say. You can program the oly lifts in as warmups to your lifts as they will typically be lighter except in regards to the upper body lifts.

5/3/1 is only a template. There is nothing special in it other than using sub maximal weights and a slightly different take on undulating periodization, being that the rep changes happen on a weekly basis instead of phase to phase or workout to workout.

With my admittedly limited knowledge of weightlifting, I would just tell you to start following the Catalyst workout of the day, conditioning being optional if you need it.

You're already strong, no need to get fancy beyond whatever it is that got you to where you are now.

I was just wanted to tell you my background. I am done using 5,3,1 and want to do focus on an o lift program only. That is why I wanted to see which training cycle folks would suggest starting with with the base that I have. I will be following this site and keeping a log on here to show my progress. Thanks
