Unfortunately not reading that text may be the biggest mistake and XF'er could ever make.

Discuss.

Throwing is cool.
Why a softball though?
I will say it's nice that they are announcing the events in advance this time. Kudos to them for making that change. I feel like last year was kind of a disgrace.

I know, if it were a shotput or discus that would allow you to make actual quantifiableobservablerepeatable comparisons between crossfitters and top track and field athletes....unless of course CF HQ doesn't want that.

That's exactly what I was thinking, check out the jug carry:
Quote:
Individual Event 2 is:
Skills 1
Max L-sit for time (1 attempt)
Max distance softball throw (2 attempts)
Max distance handstand walk (1 attempt with 1 mulligan if less than 5 yards)
Athletes will be scored for this event in the same system as the Regional scoring. And they will be ranked in each test with the sum of their 3 rankings determining their final score for the event. Low score wins and will receive the identical points as the other events.
Individual Event 5 is:
Skills 2
1 rep max weighted chest-to-bar pull-up for load
1 rep max snatch for load
Jug carry for distance in 60 seconds
Each athlete has 2 minutes to establish a 1 rep max chest-to-bar pull-ups, 2 minutes to establish a 1 rep max snatch, and then will have 60 seconds to carry 2 weighted water jugs, as far as possible.
Athletes will be ranked in each test with the sum of their 3 rankings, determining their final score for the event.
Athletes are now on their way to the Track to review the standards of these events.

Event 2
Max L-Sit Hold
Max Distance Softball Throw (2 Attempts)
Max Handstand Walk (1 Mulligan if 1st attempt is less than 5 yards)
So the truly elite need a mulligan? I don't get it.

And that's the end of that. No explanation. Even though there were some strong disagreements going on it was actually a pretty civil discussion and a good healthy debate. It's ridiculous. F*ck that place. Crossfit should be headquartered in North Korea or something...

I'd pay to see the moderator discussion board on that thread and this one. They really rip into posters. If anyone hasn't seen it there's a link in the Crossfit White Pages from a few years back.
