Default Intensity with static holds

I know for steady state cycles they it is preferred to use 50% of your max hold time. However are there situations in which using a higher intensity, i.e longer time for your hold, would be beneficial? If so how would one rotate this in their routine?

I prefer 60-70% for various reasons.

I like to hold until just before my scapula position goes. Can't see any issues with that

Going to failure tends to produce inferior results than prorating hold times to have consistent sets
