15-16 second 100m Time & I'm 60lbs overweight...
My question is, if I drop 60lbs of mostly fat, and train specifically on 100m sprinting and training to supplement improving my speed and technique...
Do I have a shot at dropping at least 3 seconds off of my time?
Reason I ask is, I raced a 180lbs friend two weekends ago and lost a 50m sprint by about 10 feet, but started catching up after we both hit top speed. I'm 60lbs overweight, at about 250lbs right now, but I was 190lbs. last summer and felt soooo much faster. Sometimes it takes a hit to the ego like this to wake someone up, and now I'm motivated to lose the weight and train the 100m to rematch and hopefully regain my silly honor. What I'm looking for from you experts, is to tell me whether or not, with significant fat loss and proper training, do I have a decent shot at gaining and beating that 10 foot deficit I'm at right now?
