Post Hang Power Snatch: Critique Request

Iím an Olympic Lift-Neophyte(evidence - Youtube vid below).

Thanks ahead of time for having a look at my video and providing any critique/advice. This forum is fantastic. Regards to everyone that posts video of themselves. Itís great to see others experiencing similar learning curves; struggling (floundering?) against gravity. Who first came up with the idea of this sport anyway (rhetorical)? Fling a heavy ass-mass over your head then throw yourself underneath it and try to stop it from smashing back to the ground? Crazy.

1) In your hang start position, push your knees back until your shins are vertical. Weight on the heels. Shoulders in front of the bar.

2) Push through the heels as you explode open and up (your heels will lift and the pressure will move to the balls of your feet naturally).

3) Push the bar back into your hips with your lats as you extend.

4) be more aggressive securing the bar overhead. Squeeze the shoulder blades together tightly and punch the palms up through the bar.

Good start.

This quote from your (Greg's) article "The Power Snatch: Uses & Cautions" hits the proverbial nail on the head relative to my wide foot position :

"There are three primary problems with pushing the weights of the power snatch up high. First is that athletes will tend to throw the feet out much wider than their squat positions"

Thanks
