Default Rest Days

I am currently going through your 9 week cycle that you are posting on your main website. I am leaving my normal CF training behind while I do this in an attempt to really focus on improving my oly lifts. Thank you for providing this service.

Regarding rest days, it would appear that these will be every Friday and Sunday. However, currently I have an invitation to play on a team on Sunday afternoons.

So my question is this: Will playing on this team on my Rest Day have a negative impact on my oly lifting? Or does Rest Day just mean to take a break from Heavy Lifting?

p.s. - Are there any more shirt designs coming? I would love a cotton blend vs. the 100% cotton on the only shirt you have for sale... just saying is all

First of all, congratulations on leaving CrossFit.

Second of all, rest day means a rest from training no matter if it's heavy or not. Any activity is going to require work output from the muscle tissue. So it's probably more appropriate to ask how significantly your training will be affected.
So if you're just doing something like slow-pitch softball and sitting half of the time, it won't be as tough on you as like a tackle football game.

Either way, to be on the safe side, I would take the extra steps in your recovery habits (ice baths, soft tissue restoration, sleep, nutrition, etc.).

Rest days definitely mean rest day. Moving around and getting some mobility work in would be a good idea, but nothing too intense.

You want to get recovered so you can perform well the next day.

It should be okay to have an activity on that rest day, but you will have to temper your expectations with the results of the cycle.

Good luck with training!

Thanks for the advice. I will pass on the invite just because I want to get the best results I can from this cycle.

fyi.. It was a soccer team so it would have involved a good deal of running/sprinting.
