America! F' Yeah!!
rest easy my fellow Americans, the world record for hot dog inhalation is back on American turf. This dude threw down 59 1/2 dogs & buns in 12 minutes! such a display of American determination, spirit, and athletic prowess brings a tear to me eye. U-S-A, U-S-A!!

Imagine if that guy showed up at your house wanting to use the bathroom after that event. Not enough toilet paper in all of Chico.

I'll wait until July 4 to see if this guy can pull it out when it matters.
Nathan's on the Fourth is where it matters most. This other thing is like setting a world record in a local meet.

Chestnut, 23, started training six weeks ago with what he calls a "hot dog run" two days per week. Each time he consumed as many hot dogs as possible in 12 minutes, doing his "weird" dance, flexing and wiggling to push the food down.
Then, he didn't eat for three days to prepare for the next time.

Apparently Kobayashi is out of the contest for the 4th. I think it's a jaw injury. Amazing.
But really, this means the real contest won't happen. It's like when Ali was stripped of his title. Frazier had to beat him before people recognized he was champ.

It just won't be the same this year.
Arthritis of the jaw, apparently. I'm sure that hotdog eating contest against the bear didn't help.
I've always wanted them to clip a microphone to each contestant for added effect...and have a camera crew follow them around for the 'aftermath.'

Joey Chestnut: Sounds like an alias, to keep the paparazzi at bay, or a porn name.
