I could be completely off here, but I think I recall him referring to it as a red bull spider??? Or something to that effect. I didn't actually see the spider after it bit me, so he had to go by the appearance of the bite to determine the type.
I believe those spiders have "wings".....hold on....hold on....now you got that joke....
If you have a raging infection they are your only hope to survive in many cases. Antibiotics and over/improperly used in many ways but people forget how easy it was to die from simple infections prior to penicillin.

I think Robb nailed it. There are some cases where antibiotics are either essential or at least a very smart move. I was given an injection of antibiotics before my surgery a month ago. There was no way I was going to reject having antibiotics for worry over my intestinal bacteria and risk picking up an infection....I just superloaded with probiotics starting the next day. I wouldn't trust using herbal antibiotics in such a situation. On the other hand, some people run to the doctor for a Z-pack every other week.
