What's the best thiking on accomodations down there? Is there decent camping to be had? I have people in Long Beach but that's a long run at the end of day.

Dave,
I know that San Onofre, San Elijo and Carlsbad campgrounds are all reasonably close and that way you get to be right on the beach.
