Default Protein digestion max per meal/time frame-Any comments appreciated

This comment was posted on the CF board. The numbers look suspect, but doing some search on PM and CF boards, did not yeild any info. I also tried Google, but could not phrase question.
Thanks in advance for any comments, good, bad ....

"That's still ALOT of protein for breakfast.

The average human male body can absorb an estimated 20g protein, 45g carbohydrates, and 30g of fat around every 2 and a half hours.

I would split the protein composition of that breakfast in half and eat the rest later with some fruit/vegetables. I try to eat the same ratio of food every 3 hours. 30% Protein, 20% fat, 50% carbs coming from clean and lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and simple carbohydrates. The fat portion coming from your meat/fish oil supplements.

Complete BS.

Or every IFing person would be dead from not absorbing their "relatively" gargantuan refeeds.

He/she is spewing dogma from what someone else said (likely another misinformed person on some other message board).

That 30g myth has been circulating forever even in the face of continued demonstration of its being untrue. Probably read it in the ACE trainer manual or something.

Considering that he's saying that an "average male"--whatever that is--can only "absorb" (20x4 + 45x4 + 30x9 = 80 + 180 + 270 = 530 calories) 530 calories per meal, with a max of 6 feedings in a 15-hour feeding window (total 3180 calories per day), some people sure are getting REALLY fat without absorbing enough to theoretically do so.

At least my minor in Nutrition during undergrad was worth learning one thing--the general areas where people learn this incorrect stuff...

Seems like anything more than 25g is will likely be wasted.

The test meal was 25g of egg protein. So even in best case scenario, 1g of the 25g was wasted. The 35% is for cooked eggs, which would mean that 8grams was wasted. The hard part to tell from this study is whether that is truly maximum amount able to be absorbed or just general loss from bioavailability and protein type.

Like I said, this is on average or the estimated amount you should ingest. There's a lot of different variables that play into it though such as the type of protein compound, your metabolic need (see pulse feeding), body composition, intensity of your workout, etc.

If it takes 3-4 hours to digest whole proteins....so even if you could only digest (which is crap) only 30grams an hour...then you could technically eat 120grams at one time and digest it over 4 hours.

So I'm going to die if I eat nearly all my meat with dinner (sometimes 1+ pounds), right? LOL

Same with my dog, I'm sure (she's fed 1x/day).

Most grams of protein I ever gotten from one meal - almost 600 (from a 96 oz lean steak). Kept me full for about 36 hours (so I fasted since hunger wasn't an issue. It was before I ever heard of IF).

Research like that is only good for messing with peoples heads imho.
Right up there with "quarter squats are good for you" type deal.

That's just me and I could be wrong.
