I've heard and read that vit c could kick a cold's butt if one started mega-dosing it upon experiencing the first symptoms of it coming on, ie, achey feeling, waking up with a sore throat, etc. Yesterday this happened to me and I thought "wheres that vit c I'm gonna try to kill this thing before it takes hold" and started chunking down 500mg tablets. I didn't keep an exact count but must've taken 20-25 grams over the day and today I woke up with just a tiny bit of scratching in my throat. It seems to be working as normally things would just get worse and I'd be in gear to endure a two week bout of battling a nasty cold. Anybody else tried this with any success?
