Default Psyllium sensitivity possible?

As a means to speed up my somewhat sluggish digestion, I started taking about 1-2T psyllium this week both am and pm on an empty stomach with 2+cups water. The am dose is taken together with ACV (1-2T). Well I have noticed that my digestion has..er...slowed down and several days come to a complete halt!

I cant figure this out. I do eat clean (my food log is linked below) and also deink roughly 3-4 liters of water total each day! Thoughts?

Dump the psyllium as it is a water soluble fiber......add in some ground flaxseeds as it is primarily insoluble. Hopefully that should clear things up somewhat. Or drink coffee....that always seems to do the trick for me!!

Thanks MIke! Its funny, I never drank coffee until I started CFing last summer! Personally I didnt like the taste. Sometimes it works though; other times not! Have used flax seed in the past and that too--sometime yeah and othertimes not!

Sarena,
Like MOD said, ditch the psyllium for a while and see what happens.

I've never been a big fan of psyllium. I much prefer flaxseed when I do take extra fiber (2-4 Tbsp, supposedly 4 Tbsp of fresh ground flaxseed gives around 1 Tbsp of flaxseed oil and then the fiber on top).

If you're doing lots of veggies, I don't think you need extra fiber.

Also make sure to drink plenty of water....especially if you find that your stools are hard.

Not sure this is scientific...but when I have plenty of sat fats from Butter and Coconut Oil....things tend to "slide" out pretty easily....may have something to do with coating the GI tract or something...like I said...nothing scientific, just an observation.
