So a few weeks ago my R knee felt unstable one day during Oly practice. I saw my
PT who is amazing (not traditional at all--uses lasers, ART,etc). Link is w/f/s
He work my SI joint and other areas and I was good to go.
This past Mon, i lifted and was doing fine (albeit tired). Later in the day I did some ZHealth work with a CF trainer and CF practitioner. I walked into that session exhausted yet gained so much energy that I hung around the CF gym after and did a few light CJ (45#bar), handstand work and even helped coach ppl on their FS!
The next monring (Tues) when I woke up after a poor night's sleep, I was in agony. I had to teach all day Tues but tried to minimize what I did with my students. I lifted on Weds (yesterday) w/out any deep squats. I taught a yoga class last evening.
I woke up in the middle of the night in agony, took advil even. My PT was working on a cancellation which came for this morning. It was perfect since I had prearranged not to work today since I was supposed to work with my Coach who couldn't come in the end. So I didnt work, my coach canceled and I got a PT appt! Everything from the stars.
To make this story short, my PT thinks it may be my medial meniscus or MCL that is messed up. I did have a meniscus tear on this knee about 13 yrs ago that healed thru pt! Yet I wasnt doing any heavy lifting then.
Pt recommended various supplements {enzymes, hyuloronic acd (sp?)}, more laser work, upping fish oils (2T day of high potency stuff from Dr G), a neoprene sleeve and contrast cold showers and hot saunas for a few days. IT does feel better but def not great. Still have difficulty with full weight bearing.
Does anyone else have any other suggestions? I am scheduled to lift heavy Sun in prep for my first meet in 3 weeks and am also going to Coach Greg next wknd in FL. I do not want to go the medical route at this point since I think it may mess with my psyche.
