I'm hoping -- at the very least, as you say, it's fun for him and a good bonding time. I just wish my daughter had the same level of interest, but despite her love of soccer and martial arts, she has no interest at getting stronger to perform better. Different strokes...

Saturday:
sn: 15 singles @ 52kg
pcl&j: 10 singles @ 66kg

Weights are about 88% of my max.

My jerk needs to get better -- pretty pitiful to be able to easily power clean the weight and have a hard time getting it overhead.

Tuesday:
sn: 5 singles @ 54.5
press: 80#x5, 90x3, 100x5
fs: 160#x5, 165#x2, 185x4 (messed up the first set, then had my son walk in on my on my first rep of the top set, so I had to hold the weight while he closed the door and walked to his seat).

My son had a PR of sorts: got the 20# medicine ball to his shoulder multiple times.

On your jerk do you feel like it's a form, mobility, or strength issue? Or some combination?

I don't think I generate enough power out of the dip. It's not that I jerk it the wrong way and fail on the catch; instead, I just do get enough pop. Secondarily, I don't have enough upper body strength to catch adequately. More front squats and presses is what I'm doing....

Hah! End of Feb, and I can go 5 days between posting, and still be on the first page. There goes the New Year's resolution crowd.

Didn't work out Thursday -- relatives in town, and I didn't want to be rude...

Sat:

sn: 54.4x1x15
pcl&j: 65.7x1x8, 68x1x3

From what I hear, simply having children can be great conditioning. Chase your child around, pick him/her up, help with projects/games. Fun activity from what I hear.

Great conditioning and high stress. Homework is the worst -- you think it was bad as a kid, try it as a parent :-)
