5 days of blissful rest, up in the mountains, dodging the smoke. Family camp, so my kids could sort of roam about with little in the way of my supervision. Food was supplied, and I ate pretty much pure paleo (except for the barbecue sauce on the 4th). Ping-pong was the sole exercise.
Tuesday:
20/20
sn: hit 19, failing on 52 kg
c&j: hit 18, failed jerk on 66 kg

Subtle progression -- one lift more on each lift. The snatch I fail technically, out front a bit -- will spend some time with a lower weight. The jerk I fail on tired legs.

Wednesday:
25 mins rowing, starting with tabatas, ending steady state.

Trying to trim up a bit, despite my self-admonition at the top of this log to concentrate on strength above else. Every time I let my eating try to match my hunger when lifting lots, I end up with more around the middle than I want.... Will try a few all out war weeks with sufficient protein daily.

Did well today: am currently at an absurdly low 1650 cals, with 189 grams of protein, and absolutely no hunger at the end of day, due to IF.

Ended at 1850, with a modicum of beef sausage to top me off. Over 200 grams of protein.

Thursday:
sn: light work up to 47.5x1x5
j: work up to 66x1x5
bs: 85x3x3
press: 95# x4, x3 -- bleagh...

metcon: 250m row + 5 95# thrusters X 3 rounds

2250m slow row to finish

1850 calories again, with 170 grams protein.

Friday:

IF 16 hours

18 95# thrusters then
4K row

1800 calories, 200g protein, carb up (100g), so fat suffered today.

This must be why my strength suffered the last time I tried IF. Getting even 1800 calories in is way hard...

Saturday:
no if

20/20
sn: Hit 20 lifts! Last lift hit was 52.5kg, need to hit one more to move up
c&j: Hit 19 lifts, last lift hit was 66kg

Progress on both fronts.

The c&j session I took a bit of extra rest because my heart was racing overly much. Coulda been the espresso I had before.

Tried snatch grip dls off 35lb bumpers, but I got sufficiently dizzy that I was afraid I'd fall down. Hit 185#x3 and 195#x2 before I gave up.

Then 3K very light row to burn off all the FFAs floating around.

I hate fat loss...

End of day: A bit over 1800 cals, 170g protein.

Sunday:

rest day, walking in the zoo with my wife and son.
about 1900 cals, 160 g protein. Negligible carbs.

This was a hard day: I was thinking about taking a "cheat day" the whole day long. Wine, pizza, etc. dominated my thoughts.

Starting to see some positive effects of the work, which helped stay the course.

Tuesday:
stress @ work.
20/20
sn: Only hit 18 lifts, regression from last time
c&j: slow elbows, and kept power cleaning. Stopped at 15 lifts so as not to hurt myself.

Slow 10 minutes of rowing.

On the lifting, I felt strong enough, but hit a wall. Glycogen wall hit due to low carb intake? Will try to do a higher carb day before next 20/20 workout.

1750 cals today, 189g protein. 86g carbs. Crazy...

No hunger at all, especially after a can of tuna fish this morning. I had to work at eating a sufficient number of calories.

Wednesday:

IF: 17.5 hours

100 1-hand 24kg kb swings: 3:55
20 minutes light rowing

Diet: adds up to 1100 cals and 125g protein. I don't believe it -- must have eaten more. Only two meals: Greek lamb, chicken and salad, and Indian lamb saag and chicken. Lots of lamb, chicken, and greens, basically.
