Pain in my Knees
For the last month maybe two i have had increasing soreness in my knees. Both of them. It is right about where the patella tendon attaches to my knee caps. They are sore to the touch and feel sore when i squat. Yesterday during my second snatch i felt a little twinge in my left knee and really noticed a burning sensation during the front squats. Today it is pretty sore but with no limit to the range of motion. I have been icing it and taking some extra fish oils. Please don't tell me to take time off... unless that will cure me. Thanks for all your help!
p.s. I have never had any issues with my knees.

I've had something similar -- thought my knees were going. In my case, it was caused by extreme soreness and tightness, nad foam rolling the hamstrings and IT band helped considerably. YMMV.

Sounds like inflammation issues. My knees used to kill me after hockey games 5 years ago....then I cut out all sugar, milk and ate more meat and fat. I feel fine now....no pain....unless I over do the grains(gluten), carbs, milk or eat some sugar....then I can feel the inflammation increase. Try diet changes....fish oil can only do so much but you have to treat the quickest source...what you eat. If you still have pain or think it is more due to a tear or injury...then maybe it is time for a DR. (that and stop working out for a while to let it repair itself)
Of course you can see all sorts of studies on how fasting/CR also reduces inflammation markers....so that could be of benefit as well.
Make sure you are drinking plenty of water too.....

Dave's suggestion is a good one.
My knees do get a little tender when I get into OLifting, but it never gets to the point you are describing.
If you aren't going to go see a doctor, you might try doing all your OL as power versions and see if it improves. If it does, then you may have a flexibility/mobility issue that can be addressed through things like stretching, joint mobility, and foam rolling.
Always better to rule out the bad stuff first. Bilateral symptoms, to me, often mean either:
1) overdoing something, too much too soon
2) systemic issues
This doesn't sound like something you want to just "train through".

Dr. G.
I heard your interview on Crossfit Live archives just about a month ago. I truly respect your opinion.
I have decided to take off till Monday at least with lots of ice and stretching. I have my tennis ball for rolling as well.
Diet wise i am pretty locked on. For the most part i am low carb relatively high fat and protein with a carb heavy post training meal. On rest days i am a little heavier on the carbs. I have been feeling great! I am working to cut out the nightshades as well.
Thanks for your help guys!

What's your source on carbs? Gluten can cause alot of inflammation and issues....but that's not to say you didn't also injure yourself....but if it comes and goes I would think it's more inflammation based. Either way....rest is what you need....and No I am not a Dr...I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.....

Minus an occasional binge drinking weekend (i'm still in College ) all carbs are fruits and veggies. More fruit out of convenience. Thanks Mike.

sounds like a tomato problem to me!
Dude, seriously. occam's razor.
start by investigating the MOST likely issues and then work your way down to the esoteric.
