That is a good video for instruction.

Here is one I shot for our judges. It is a simple 4 min set and it helps to sometimes see folks with different body types.

Thank's for posting the video. It helped seeing how you pace yourself for longer sets because I think I've been going at it way too fast.
Incidentally is it better for beginners to do timed sets or should we stick to counting reps? The reason I'm asking is because I've tried doing timed sets switching hands every minute but I always seem to do more reps per minute with my right arm than with my left and I'm worried that I'll develop a strength imbalance unless I go back to just counting reps.

I'm a big believer in timed sets and adhering to a set pace They keep the bell in your hand longer (which does help build work capacity).

For beginners, I recommend that they perhaps switch hands on the minute. Set a pre-determined pace. Slow for this exercise would be anything < 7rpm.. Moderate would be 8-10 reps. Try 8rpm. That is 4 reps every 30 seconds or 2 reps every 15. Then Switch hands and do another 8. If that is easy, either speed up or switch hands every 2 min.

Pace and timed sets makes you pay attention to technique and focus on each rep.

Thanks for posting Catherine. I saw your video on youtube, where you achieved Master of Sport if that heading is correct.

Regardless it was an amazing effort and achievement.

I did a timed set today and really burned myself out... gotta work on the pacing a bit too I suppose.

Thanks. Yes, that was the video put out by the AKC in April 2007. I did the effort at cert and achieved MS there. I keep other videos on my Youtube channel for educational and judging purposes and to keep a close eye on my own technique
