Default I'm losing weight on IF...

Now, this might be a good thing for the overweight crowd -- but it isn't so much for me, as I am at a 17.7 BMI, which is underweight. I actually don't look as bad as 'underweight' sounds though, I just look fit... thin, but fit. I'm also stronger than I was before as well, so I don't think I lost any lean body mass. So, IF is really effective, and I've been pretty much eating as I normally do, just in a condensed window. On the weekends I eat all day, and work out every other day with dumbells & kettlebells (also weighted pull-ups, hindu squats, hindu push-ups, neck bridge) - while biking 5 days a week.

The problem is that I don't want to lose any more weight - but to gain some of it back - but without gaining any body fat in the process of...

The whole reason I went on IF was to lose body fat (as it seems to show up exclusively in my face, which really sucks) but to retain the same weight or so.

What would be the best way to achieve this? I've already been eating fairly paleo (with the occasional rice and pasta thrown in some days, chocolate, ice cream).

I don't count calories so I can tell how many I've been consuming, but it seems like the average amount for me that I've always ate.

Expand your eating window and eat MORE. Or IF less often (maybe 3x a week). Eat more protein (at least 1g/lb of lean mass) to maintain muscle. That or workout less....it's still a calorie in/out equation at heart. So you need to eat more...or burn less.

Does eating more necessarily add on more body fat, or is that in dietary composition? Like, if I just ate more Paleolithic foods, will any of it increase my body fat levels like crap food does -- but maybe to a lesser degree? Ideally, it would be that these good foods wouldn't raise my fat levels at all.

If you eat crap...then chances are you will put on fat. If you eat more protein then chances are it will go to rebuilding muscles. Carbs depend on your insulin sensitivity and spillover (from muscle into fat) point...as some may do fine at 100g a day...but you may do better at 150g a day. People have reported needing to eat less calories to maintain on IF, but it's not a metabolic slowdown.....most likely you are able to maintain on less with the higher quality of foods you put in as well, as the body likes nutrients, amino acids, vitamins, etc. Again....you actually may be experiencing an increase in fat burning with IF esp depending on when you are working out (fasted?). IF does increase metabolism in some. So still comes down to calories. Eat for your particular goals and you will find what works.

Eat MORE of the Paleo Foods. You need it. More fat, fat, fat.

OK -- however, what's weird though is that I read how most people can typically maintain on less overall food on an IF scheme, which appears to be the opposite of my biological functioning. To maintain my size on IF, I need to eat more overall food in a day than I was used to eating prior to IF. Not so much a bad thing, but I got to make sure it is clean food - as I do not want any more body fat. I bought a pair of calipers anyway yesterday to start measuring that...

Also, what are the best sources to get my carb intake from? Currently I eat a few pieces of fruit (a few dates to break my fast, and then some oranges maybe, or bananas, berries - these are the norm) and vegetables with my meals -- should I like couple this with a slice of something evocative like bread... or is there a better alternative?

Do a diet diary on Fitday.com . That's the only way to get an honest picture.

It may be true for some...others different. Also may be the illusion of eating less...although if people aren't counting calories and upping portions it's really hard to tell. In the end it only matters what is happening with you!
