Thanks, Derek. We did polish off a few great bottles.
I also polished this off:
DOUBLE CORONARY BURGER
Topped with two fried eggs, four slices of American
cheese, and 5 slices of bacon, with two grilled cheese
sandwiches replacing the buns, plus tater-tots and 2 beers. Paleo at its best.

It is the Vortex in Atlanta, GA. The servers dress like strippers.

BJJ
Side control escapes. I am really concentrating on escaping my hips, coming to my knees and attacking the single leg.

Brabo Choke escapes from knee on belly
I hit three triangles tonight off Omoplata fakes. Derek's voice is in my head now when i go for triangles:" walk shoulders back." Works like a charm!
Also, I am doing better against advanced blues and higher. I am not threatening subs, just surviving, escaping and not falling in traps. It is getting better, as i consider 10 min rolls with no taps a (mental) victory.

First day back from 8 day trip to Barcelona Spain, and first workout in 10 days. I did nothing but eat, drink and walk the entire time. Oddly, my shoulder (AC Joint) felt worse after resting it for 10 days.
Workout:
200 rope turns
JM
DB Push-press/Pull-ups
5x5
DB Lunges/KB Swings
4x 10reps/20reps
Band pull-thrus
3 hours later:
BJJ
NAGA and Pan Ams are closing in, so situation drills and rolling:
5/5 min escapes from mount, back, turtle. If you escape, start over. If your partner finishes you, start over. Then, switch positions for another 5 min.
4x10 min rolls.
Notes: A great way to come back. I escaped from all bad potions. I did well attacking mount and turtle, but my back attacks with hooks in are lacking, because I seldom find myself there. This is why I LOVE these. In a normal roll one may be in an inferior position once a night, so practicing escapes are seldom.

Have not felt like posting lately.
For the last few months, I have been doing BJJ 2-3 times a week and working out 1-2 times a week. I have been having recovery issues and fell ill twice in 8 week with URI which turns into bronchitis for 2-3 weeks.
26 and 28 May
BJJ
31 May
4x
25 BW+20 pound vest: ATG squats, push-ups, rows, KB swings
stretch
Workout breaks at work the last two weeks have included:
pistols and pull-ups OR 2" 18 foot rope climbs--probably 5 sets of each a day, going by feel for reps.

No, we 86ed the trip after I gave my wife the gunk. Shawn (?) was very polite and welcomed me to come-in to open mat for free. I will hit it next time.
