Default 2007 Breakfast Thread Awards!!!

After a long and productive year on the Breakfast Thread Message Board and Discussion Forums, some awards are due.

The Lumberjack Golden Log goes to.... Yoon, for his repeated use of NYC area diners in his quest to be full sized 77kg lifter. (one example)

The Start the Day Right Silver Stein goes to ... Eva Claire for this post... bringing beer back to breakfast!

This "YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES" facial henna tattoo goes to all those who didn't rate their breakfasts... too many examples. Posting a breakfast = giving a rating!

The Poet Laurette goes to Bastardo for these unrecognized haiku summaries of previous breakfasts... series starts
here
.

Grill it and Kill it Ted Nuget Seal of Approval goes to and me
and I hope I didn't miss anyone else...

Longest Post that gets an "OK" even though it's not about breakfast but about an awesome and fat weightlifter.. this one.

For an Inappropriate Cutesy Reference to Nookie, the "Wagging Finger" goes to Derek...
Basically, because of the smiley.

And that's it for this year. Thanks for making 2007 a good year at the Breakfast Thread Message Board and Discussion Forums.
Your 2008 breakfasts can go in the same thread - no need to start a new one for 08. We're building on greatness!
Good luck to 2008!

hahaha!

FYI, my verdict for best Lumberjack breakfast (and best diner) in NYC for 2007:

The Square Diner (TriBeCa)
33 Leonard St.
New York, NY 10013

Totally unpretentious. Great variety. Great prices. Great service (Sheila is the best-est).

Based on my entries thus far in 2008, I'll have to kick it up a notch if I hope to win consecutive Golden Logs.

And on a somewhat related and bittersweet note, Sheila has graduated nursing school and is no longer serving at the Square. A great gain for the nursing industry, but a huge loss for my favorite NYC diner. Fly on Little Wing...
