We ate a buffalo meat loaf tonight.

I am not yet reconciled to seeing the buffalo grazing on the farm, some of them right up next to the road, and smacking my lips over dinner. (Reformed vegetarian)

More chicken wings and chicken drumsticks. I never knew these things were so oily. But it's free range chicken so *gobble* *slurp*.

Yesterday, chicken ovum, sardines, and pork rib tips (which I kinda took my eyes of off and turned into something resembling charcoal...happens to the best of us).

Today, chicken ovum, sardines, and ground beef (for dinner).

Bacon, eggs topped with guacamole (I do a lot of this), leftover salmon with pesto from last night (I do a lot of leftovers, too).

Today: pig, pig and more pig. Plus some chicken ovum. Lunch was pig with pig fat, and was one of the most satisfying things I've had for some time.



Oh, and oil squeezed out from wittle fishies.

Oh my goodness the pigs look so happy! If I had to hunt for food I'd probably eat only vegetables and clams/mussels because they can't stare at me with accusing puppy dog eyes when I'm about to kill them.

Today I had seared oyster blade with wasabi.

Early on, I decided that the only moral way to eat animals was to take responsibility for killing them, so I went hunting with my uncle in the mountains of Appalachia*.

Since then, I've been comfortable with the idea that eating meat involves a certain amount of killing of warm fuzzy creatures.

My grandmother, who was a master back woods, moonshiner, ornithologist bird-banding, elementary school teaching mountain woman, skinned, gutted and cooked up the squirrel in a nice stew which I took back home to college with me. I'm ashamed to admit that I ate only about half of the stew -- squirrel isn't really all that good, as it turns out.
