Makes the foam roller seem like child's play. This thing brought tears to my eyes. It's like using a barbell as a roller.
It's only big enough for the quads (can't roll out your back, etc.) but it hits much, much deeper than a foam roll. Plus, the way it's built...it appears that it will far outlive a regular foam roll.
That quadballer looks much better than the foam roller. I don't even use my foam roller that often and it already turned into an hourglass shape. Is the quadballer wide enough to roll your lower and upper back? It looked like the wheels on the side might get in the way.
It's heavy duty and won't deform...but you're right it's only about 10" inside the wheels. So you can only really use it for legs. But for that purpose it is perfect!
After purchasing it, I've wondered if a section of 4" PVC pipe would do the same. Or maybe that might be too rough because there is zero padding on it.
PVC is popular as well but the problem I find with it is that it is too smooth not to rough. I find that it is hard to actually roll on the PVC I end up sliding up and down it because there is no grip on it to roll with my body. I think what you were referring to above is that it might be too hard but I don't think it is too hard.
PVC with some sort of rubber grip wrapped around it would be ideal if anyone has any ideas.
There is a foam roller that is foam with a hard PVC core, I think you can grab it over at perform better.
I like the one I got over at EliteFTS, ok my broither got it for me as a Christmas present a year ago but it's still working and I'm usually ~180-195 and I use it pretty regularly too.
