Pimping my garage gym
I rearranged my entire gym this past week. Moved a bunch of stuff out of the garage and just generally got things in order. My wife gave me a 22 inch Flat Panel DVD Combo for Christmas so that completed the electronics for the man cave. Yes I wired it for surround sound. Here are a couple of pictures.
I swear I haven't used that curl bar for curls in years... it is mainly used to anchor my feet for situps.
And a garage gym upgrade wouldn't be final without the sweat angel to break her in. This was after TKO on Saturday. If you get the right angle you can see I am supporting Leo and Crossfit Evolution!
I am sure other people worked on their garage gyms or got new equipment over the holidays post up some pictures of your workout spot.

It's not much, but it started like this...
I've spent the better part of four days working on it. I'm one of five tenants in this house, and every time a tenant is replaced, he ditches half of his stuff in the garage and leaves it there. A bit more work, and it'll be good.
Used to have this place.

That sir is one hell of a change. Nice space. Do you have a spot to hang your rings in there?

I did in a previous life. Leo and I keep threatening to go and do one now. I loved it but was unhealthy and overtrained the entire time. I saw a friend while I was training for a half ironman in the summer of 2004 and he asked what POW camp I had escaped from.
I still love to ride, run and swim I just don't train them as a sport anymore. Leo wanted to do a triathlon on his single speed so I felt like I had a good chance to take him.... maybe.

Ack. Triathlons, blech. Been there, done that. Derek, on the POW note, I remember another trainer at the UA gym I worked at during my undergrad triathlon days that commented on my sunken cheeks--the treasured POW look. I got down to 168# at 6' tall, won't be doing that again. Oh yeah, the blood sugar issues from cramming down carbs were awesome too.
If I didn't dislike pool swim training so much, I might do a sprint once in a while. At this point, I would only do a duathlon for fun.
I will post some pics of my garage gym soon.
Nice place, Patrick. Very simple and clean.

Unfortunately, no. There's an I-beam in the basement that I can sling them over, but it's low and not the best position. Fortunately, I intend to get a power rack, so that won't be much of a problem.

You can add an erg to mine now, and also 4 stall mats and a York Powerbar tomorrow.
I love Craig's List.
