Default Footwear

I wanted to invest in a good cross training shoe. Something I could do my regular O]Lifts with but also something I could take to the track or field to do sprints with. I was doing some research on the Nike Free Dynamic Trainer which is supposed to strengthen your feet and mimic the feel of being barefoot if I'm not mistaken. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on good footwear to invest in for the gym and and outdoor running

If you take your OL seriously, IMO you should only do it in OL shoes.

If you had to pick an all-in-one, I'd hazard a guess that the Nike Free Dynamic TR Men's Training Shoe would be a decent choice, based on the fact I did many CF workouts in my old pair of Nike Free Trainer 7.0s (not made anymore, but probably pretty similar).

Now that I have my OL shoes, I wouldn't lift without them.

Get some oly shoes for o-lifts. For anything else I'd say asics, nike, addidas etc. They are all made in the same factory.

Now you're set for both weightlifting and running, at the price of only a single pair of shoes.

Seriously - I've been going barefoot since March 7th, and it really isn't all that bad. Your feet get phenomenonally tougher within the first week. Haven't done any running yet, but I've traveled probably 20 miles with all the walking built into college. Much of it has been on sidewalks (many of which are pebbled, not smooth) or cutting across parking lots (which are full of small rocks and very small glass shards). It's really not that bad.
