fundraiser t-shirt for the 2009 Junior world team
On the home page of this site there is a link to buy a shirt that Pendlay Barbell and MuscledriverUSA are selling as a fundraiser for the 2009 Junior world team that is set to represent the USA in Constanta, Romania in June. You can read the details by clicking the link, but this is a quick-dry fabric shirt that is quite nice looking, identifies the wearer as part of the "support team" for the US team going to this meet, and $10 from every shirt will go directly to the 17-20 year old athletes who are representing us at this meet.
Because of lack of funds from the USAW, unlike most years the USAW will not be able to pay the full cost of the trip this year for all the athletes. Most of the athletes will have to pay some portion if not all of the $2700 price tag for the trip themselves. These kids have worked long and hard to represent USA weightlifting at this meet, we dont want any of our best lifters left behind because of financial reasons.
Take a look at the link on the home page, and consider supporting these lifters by buying this nice looking shirt.

Here is the link.

I'm getting mine in XS and ripping off the sleeves.
Seriously, the USAW is having some money trouble, and the members of our junior national team are going to have to foot most of their own bill to compete. If they don't get a boost, we're going to end up sending the best lifters who can pay their own way rather than the best lifters, period.
For the future of American weightlifting to be successful, our best juniors need international competition experience. Help the kids out and get yourself a swanky t-shirt in the process (you can't wear your "Got Snatch?" shirt every day).

I'll be ordering 1 or 2 shirts but I was curious if there was anyway to donate money directly?

Contacted MDUSA today and asked. They said any direct donations ought to go directly to USAW. So, I just contacted USAW to get whom to make the check out to and where to send it. I'll post back when I get the reply.

Thanks for the info, Patrick. I bought a shirt on Tuesday (They now come in Navy too!). The shirts look really sharp from the pictures, but I will post what I think of the real thing when mine arrives.

Received my shirt on Friday. It is well worth the $20. I feel like I am supporting the team for free!

Yes, nice shirts. Got mine Friday as well. For those who fear the shiny poly shirt- these aren't them. Looks like a normal cotton shirt.
