Default how long for paleo to kick in? slight weight gain?

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the adjustment period when you start the paleo diet. I've been on it for 4 days and had a slight weight gain. I'm waiting for the fat as fuel to start kicking in. Anyone experience a slight gain before they start losing? And, how long before your body makes the transition? My workouts are no longer sluggish, so that's a good thing, right?

Thanks for your input.

Usually 1-2 weeks.

If your workouts/you are feeling no longer sluggish you're probably already adapted.

Weight gain is the least of your concerns as if you are lifting it's possible you are putting on muscle mass and losing fat mass. The mirror never lies, but the scale does.

Look at weight trends over weeks....not days. Your water balance can add 5 lbs in a week....and could be gone in the next. Don't micromanage it, just look at the bigger trends.
