Hand Numbness / Weakness

I've been getting alot of numbness in the top of my hand and thumb, also weakness like with picking up a coffee cup or holding something relatively light...my hand will shake. It all began afew days after a intense session of grip work...the day after I noticed the numbness, then several days after the weakness began as well. I have a appt with a chiro but is there anything in the meantime i should be doing? When I massage my forearm it actually created some pain that was pretty substantial in the muscle so I have stopped doing that.

Do as much stretching and massage as possible without causing pain.

This doesn't mean just in the forearm.. do the upper arms, shoulder, neck as well.
