I'm out. Off to Utah
Where I'll finally meet Dan John, whom I've been cooresponding with for 8-9 years now over the web. Several near misses, but no connects.

Nice. Utah's a beautiful state... spent some time there a few years back.
Enjoy!

Well, that should be fun. Enjoy the altitude. Try the Scotch.
Give us the full report.

Steve-
Have fun! Tell Dan John, Mark Twight and the Gym Jones crew hello. Word on the street is that I'm working with all of them...from Chico, while running a gym and hanging out on this godforsaken message board. Yea, that makes sense. Don't freeze your ARSE off!

Had a lot of fun. Learned a lot.
I didn't see the mountains until about 6 hours after I got in, due to the "inversion" and the smog.
Didn't meet Mark or the Gym Jones crew. One more day might have done it.

Mark was at a convention and it just didn't work out for the rest of his troop to come over. That happens.
It was great having you, Shaf...great.
Feel free to post anything you like about what you got or learned or whatever...I am using all of it already. We are doing evaluations in our classes this week and it is just flat out fun.
Robb makes a funny point about the consPIRACY that exists: it seems that Robb, Mark and me (among others) get together nightly and make Certification courses.
Of course, I call them Handouts. Certificates are as valuable as my daughter's MVP award in the County soccer league: everybody got the MVP award.

A quick synopsis of some of the stuff:
What I learned, just related to lifting
-the tools to improve my clean and snatch
-some functional movement evaluation techniques from Australia/Ireland
-quick pointers on the weight for distance throwing
-the effectiveness of the "Carried Away" carries/drags/etc as an unorthodox, but very effective system for improving conditioning and performance
-improvements on my kb windmill form and why
-the kettlebell bootstrapper
-other warm up stuff
-How Dan handles 30 14-15 year olds in a weight room.

MILFC? One ponders the possibilities.
Wait, I have a feeling of Deja vu on this for some reason.
I like the fact that we're all winners here and that we can all be certified. I'm posting mine on my wall next to my 15 years of dedicated service to junior high children certificate.
