How reliable is the body when sick?
Lately I've been listening to my body and what it feels like eating, eg more/less veggies, more fatty meat, some fruit. Is the body reliable when sick?
One time I had a bad cold and just wanted chicken noodle soup and a hotdog. Last year when I had dengue fever I didn't want to eat at all. Right now I'm having a bad cold again and just want cold yoghurt?

I can't say anything definitive because I'm not a doctor, but from experience, I don't eat much when I'm sick... once I was pretty shitty feeling and I only ate one small thing all day..

cry for more good bacteria?
Dunno....I usually listen to my body especially when sick....sometimes it wants food...other times it doesn't.....in between I nuke it with plenty of cayenne pepper, ACV and water....seems to all work out.
I remember watching a show about a guy stranded at sea....the first couple days he only ate the lean meat of fish....but soon enough his cravings turned towards survival and he only wanted the fatty parts with all the vitamins and minerals....including the eyes. Not sure that's the same as being sick...but the body can do things for a reason especially if survival is at stake....or at least that's the philosophy I go with.

MOD does your body actually want cayenne pepper and ACV or do you take it on purpose?
I've been avoiding going to the doctor and taking any non-prescription medication so far just to see how effectively my body can deal with the cold (thick coloured phlegm).
On the second and third days my body wanted and so I had lots of chicken broth from chicken bones cooked in ACV and water, carrots, leek, onion, celery, garlic, and bits of chicken meat off the bones. 6 hours after I'd have less phlegm. But the broth hasn't been a miracle potion either. Hmm....

Yeah.. I know.. which is why I'm wondering why I want it. Unless I actually want some creamy soup.

Whatever you eat, try to eat as little of it as possible until your appetite really comes back strong. If you aren't hungry, then don't worry about eating.
A great amount of immune system energy and blood flow has to be diverted to "screening" food in the digestive system, when sick, this energy is better used towards dealing with other things.
