Vit-D deficiency linked to H1N1 deaths
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...k-in-Kids.aspx
Very interesting article about Vit-D deficiency in children that have died from swine flu.

Are they really sure it isn't from an antibiotic or Tamiflu deficiency? :-P
I've got bottles of vitamin D3, $25 for 1500 drops at 1000 units/drop. If anyone is interested, PM me or simply call my office.
If you aren't already assuming you're deficient, it would be wise to get yourself tested anyway. The only *person*--as in, one person--I've seen with proper vitamin D levels in my practice (in TUCSON, AZ) is an older gentleman who aggressively supplements himself and tests his level 2x/year.

Mercola's saying 5-10k units per day for adults year around. If sick, he says take 1000 iu per lb body weight.

1000 IU per lbs bodyweight per day is A LOT. Then again, one of the studies I read some doctor gave kids 250,000 IU in a single dose, with no apparent ill effects...
I'm definitely going to be hitting up 5-10k per day though. I got the 5,000 IU pills and they're working great so far.

Steven,
It was 2000iu per kg BW, for a total of 3 days, so that's very close to 1000iu per pound BW x 3 days.
I go by pounds. The math is easier.
I could look it up on PubMed, a recent study gave seniors 500,000iu in a single dose with no ill effects at all.

So I would need 200 drops (being 200 LB's) for 3 days and then what dosage do you step it down to?
