I doubt it's Lynne Pitts who actually set it up since it would need to be done in the Apache config files, not in the forums (more likely to be Ron or whatever the guy's name is who admins the forum site). I doubt it would be something a server admin would do without being asked to though, so I find it unlikely that someone didn't know about it. Whether that's Lynne or not, I don't know.

The original thread got closed, I started another and have got a timer running on when it gets closed too. There's already been one "HQ would never do anything like that" reply - because we all know HQ can do no wrong.

Hey, maybe we're being unfair and their board's been hacked. And instead of doing any damage at all, the hacker only decided to set up redirects coming from one very specific referrer. Yeah, I bet that's it...

I'll have our tech guys take a look, just in case. See why we ask everyone to be sure to label their links?

You should really check with the tech support of the site Robert referred to."

Interesting statement. No where in her response is a denial that the crossfit servers are referring users to porn sites. What Lynne said was that she is sure that none of the links on the crossfit site are redirecting users to "bad" places. The militant policing of links on the site provides her with this assurance. Lynne also lets us know what she thinks of irongarmx: a bad place that redirects you to porn sites. Finally, the enjoyment she takes by underlining the "WFS" rule is obvious and it speaks volumes about the entire charge of redirecting the web traffic. I'm sure there will be a thorough and complete investigation into it, though. Maybe crossfit should hire the same group of people that OJ used to "take a look."

I was hoping to attend a few certs when I retire and actually contemplated trying to affiliate some day (I need a bunch of training and education first). After watching this all go down, I'd be surprised if anyone does business with them.

Lynne = good people. Whoever did it, she had nothing to do with it.

But she appears happy to cover for the culprit(s).

Accessory after the fact.

Tough to give up good employment over moral objections these days... Even without the threat of some kind of paramilitary team swooping in while she's sleeping dropping her off in Siberia.

Lots of "shenanigans" going on.....

(I just really love using the word "shenanigans" as much as possible)

I'm still waiting for the rendition team. I hope they do not start with the feet...

nothing new. folks at igx are fucking hilarious. sometimes a bit harsh, but pretty insightful in their criticism of cf. not all just hate and bile.
the forgers of elite fitness are under some serious fire, and someone should probably sit down and think about taking care of business appropriately and quickly.

I think it's a shame that good people are caught up in this. This whole situation, including the years of buildup, smacks of poor leadership at crossfit.

It seems to me that the company grew, in part, from traffic at the main site. Today's newbies at the site are tomorrow's seminar attendees and affiliates. How can the leadership of the company allow for the continued "shenanigans" over there (Hey Farva what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy s**t on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?) They can't ask the consumer to look the other way or ignore the incredible moderation of material and information. And to allow for the porn site referrals? Without some type of statement, it appears to me that it's allowed or condoned.

This is a "bull by the horns" problem for the company, but no one appears to be capable of grabbing it and taking charge. Some type of official statement would be a good start; one that isn't buried in the comments on the affiliate blog and one given by someone who has some intestinal fortitude. How about addressing Castro's actions and the apparent vindictive actions since then? I still can't believe the only statement from management was delivered in such a cowardly manner and was used as a vehicle to insult Robb's credibility.

I am just blown away by the entire situation, which may say something bad about me. But I am the consumer so I suppose I am entitled to an opinion.

All newbies must have at least 14 pieces of flare.....except in this case each piece seems to cost $1000 a pop.

Edit: I ramble too much.....
