Interesting read especially since I just picked up my 2 "cups" a day habit back up after starting my new job. Hm.

Good stuff. I wouldn't worry about the 2 cups a day based on the conclusions in that article (at the end he mentions that studies actually show benefit to intake in "moderation.") Not sure where 2 cups falls on that scale, but it doesn't fall under drinking it all day, which is the group I think he's targeting.

That stuff makes sense for sure intuitively.

I put "cups" in quotes because i think when they do cups of coffee in studies they mean 6-8 ounces while my cup is probably closer to 16-20 ounces.

I had gotten pretty good about my coffee consumption while I was telecommuting from home. Previously at work it had gotten to like 3-4 "cups" a day and then I'd get those "haven't had coffee" headaches on days I'd miss a cup.

I drink 16oz a few times a week. That's 2.67 "cups" by most measurements. I think they use those little 6oz cups as the standard. Like Blair, I wouldn't be too concerned about 2 cups, though 2 "cups" might be a bit more since you're talking about 5-6 cups of coffee there.

Try and take weekends off, give your body a break....may also increase your caffeine sensitivity in the process....so those 2 cups can become 1 cup....or then you are drinking tea all day (less caffeine per cup)....add some heavy cream if you want more taste.

I would avoid high caffeine intake on an IF day (for those who do IF) or during periods of high stress (unless it is right before a workout)....will only raise cortisol (aka that muscle waster), strain the immune system, and can lead to high feelings of anxiety. Not cool.

Hence why some who do IF while drinking coffee may complain of more "belly fat"....too much stress going on....time for some Cortislim pills (note tad bit of sarcasm).
