I have seen HoF quite a few times and Sleep is one of the best. We have Floor and Torche down here in Miami to keep us under.

I haven't really listened to too much HoF, but i'm a big fan of Om, the other band to come out of the former Sleep members. saw them play at like 3:00AM in Barcelona. pretty awesome. Torche is fantastic. now that is a face melting live show. a friend just hooked me up with Floor - i haven't listened to that much of it just yet. from what i understand it's the old band of alot of the Torche guys, right?

Being in the sticks outside of Fresno is basically being in the sticks outside of the sticks. That being said, Fresno had a thriving Hardcore scene in the 80's. Many great bands came through town and Capital Punishment was probably the best thing going locally. I saw Primer Grey more than once (the details have begun to get fuzzy).
BTW, how about Star Power?

It would have to be either "Lose Yourself" by Eminem or
"Big Shit Poppin" by T.I.
or almost anything by DMX
I like loud, upbeat, violent music when I lift, and music that talks about going out fighting to get yours.

The entire Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star album.
"The Platypus Strut" by Ohmega Watts.
I just can't get into metal or 70's Big music for lifting/conditioning.

"You've Got Another Thing Coming" by Judas Priest. I have never, ever failed to get the number of reps I wanted with this song on.

maybe this is a late reply but whatever.
i've always referred to it as "safety bands." it's like bands that people can say they like without fear of really catching flak. classic rock in general can slide in this category, but bands like red hot chili peppers are more modern ones.
i mostly listen to grind and beatdown, but recently this has been nice
