Funny the way everything comes back around. When I started eating "paleo" my grandfather remarked, "(insert long string of Italian swear words) that's not a diet, that's how we ate when I was growing up!"

Just out of curiousity, what inspired you to run barefoot?

For me, it was just an act of desperation. I had tried every type of shoe on the market, worked with running coaches, physical therapists, tried orthotics, went to a sports performance facility, etc. I picked up a copy of Born to Run, and it was like "well nothing else works for me, I'll try this." Barefoot still wasn't the fix, but it got me to start looking at running technique which is clearly what I had needed all along.
