Analytics are great. From the above it's obvious that Crossfit is gaining traction in:
a) military-heavy areas
b) areas known for their athletic/health-conscious populations
Pretty much confirmed by the fact that NYC, Philly, Chicago, Memphis, Indianapolis, Boston, and other non-military non-health nut cities are nowhere to be found there.
That's not just based on Google trends either, also look at the Crossfit Sectionals (how many in California vs. rest of the country) and number of military base affiliates and affiliates in states like CA, CO, and TX vs the rest of the country.
Not to mention the fact that aside from the mil/LEO/responder clientele to which Crossfit caters, it's primary demographic is uh...young, wealthy white people. Now all you have to do is convince that group to think they're elite because they do the same workouts as military personnel, and you've got yourself a multi-million dollar program.
