That intuits well!
(I was really confused by all of the gas mask pictures. I assumed it was some odd affiliate with very weird members who thought it was "funny". I can't believe people actually think there's a training advantage.)

Yeah, its really strange people have the urge to post pictures of themselves shirtless, with gas mask on, doing ridiculous and extreme forms of exercise onto the internet.

"I have not done CrossFit training for almost two weeks now. If feels very strange to not be in pain all the time. Creepy."
"Workout: This is where you go to a 'gym' and do some exercising. There may or may not be some people around that you can hire that have taken a few or a lot of weekend classes that give them a protocol around generalized fitness training. My ex decided to become a personal trainer and did a 3 weekend course, and ding~ was a personal trainer. There are no real goals set and no real specific path to reach those goals. The workouts are usually set into a pattern and you just repeat that pattern over and over...forever. "
"...CrossFit. The people that train you have gone through years of training with the most scientifically educated fitness coaches and trainers in the world...."
"You don't get to become a coach unless you go through a certification program which takes years, and you have to establish proficiency in everything you are going to be teaching."
"These people are trained in safety first, so you don't get hurt..."
"Everything is geared towards highly effective training with a high focus on safety first. "
"In gyms you often see people on with braces and taping, etc, because they are constantly hurting themselves. You don't see that at CrossFit. "
"Most of my pain is from a build up of lactic acid in the muscles from all this stuff ... we are taught at CrossFit to reduce all that. "
"There have been a few studies released ... (crossfit) will REVERSE heart disease. CrossFit will. It actually REVERSES heart disease. So if you are healthy enough, there is nothing better to restore your heart issues. "

Is there a level ABOVE drinking the kool-aid? One that puts you past delusional and into the nether-realm of absolutely and irreparably full of shit?
I have the L1 and 4 SME certs. They are, for the most part, taught by knowledgeable and effective instructors. BUT, there's NOTHING in any of those that tests my abilities to effectively coach athletes. With the exception of Tucker and Starrett's SME certs, client safety isn't even mentioned, unless you count the "Don't resist the downward force if you're doing jumping pull-ups on Fran- it'll give you "teh Rhabdo"!"

Like......I get a lot of this stuff.
I know a lot of it is dangerous, but I can at least see the thinking (however mistaken or incomplete it is) behind it.
But fucking GASMASKS?
My jaw actually dropped when I googled it and found people were serious about it.
I mean, this surely is on a par with the shakeweight?
There is a video of a guy doing burpees in one.
Where the hell am I?
