The Crossfit Grinder?
After reading Lyle McD's latest series of articles, it occurs to me that Dave Castro and Tony Budding probably think that they are doing something like the "grinder" programs of the old USSR and modern China. They have a program that will wreck all but the most genetically gifted, but as long as the cream continues to rise to the top, they're happy. Crossfit has always been about emulation of the firebreathers.
There is no way they don't know that they are ruining bodies; so they must not care.

Do not rush to assign intent when incompetence and indifference are adequate explanations.

I'm not completely opposed to that perspective. My post was an attempt to answer the question "What exactly do they think they are thinking?" They THINK they think that they are creating an army of monsters.
This results in indifference towards the mass wounded, and reflects incompetence because they are idiots.

Except rather than sports dominance for national glory their secret master plan is to take the masses, grind them into a small group of mediocre (but pretty) athletes, to top off the gin fund.
