You're at a party and you have a couple of drinks, but you're feeling okay. You hop in the car to drive home, and on the way, you find yourself swerving off the side of the road into a small ravine, where you hit a tree and total your car. The most rational explanation would have been that you were more tipsy than you thought.
Do you admit to yourself it was the alcohol?
Were any of these injuries at the same competition? I really hope not.
Imagine, running one heat of the competition, then two out of five competitors pop their Achilles. The heat ends, and it's time for the next batch of five. They do the same workout, and *pop* there goes another tendon. I'm hoping the people that run these things would have the sense to stop it if that were the case.

I'm a CrossFit athlete and crossfit is an intense workout that has constantly varied, functional movement, at high intensity. And when I ruptured my achilles tendon....

Anybody know whether these were incurred if they were jumping off the box at the top and landing on both feet at the same time, perhaps trying to rebound off the floor (most likely being concrete maybe with a stall mat over).
Just wondering, since generally when doing these I just alternate stepping down with the legs one at a time. Jump up, step down though I have done the jump up, jump down rebound jump up.

Did I get rhabdo?
I was at a CF gym about a year ago (i know, i know) and we went through a pretty "intense" workout. A little while after I got home I went to the bathroom and peed straight coffee. Knowing what rhabdo was and that this was one of the symptoms I freaked out and proceeded to drink about a gallon and a half of water/gatorade (it seemed like the thing to do). I told myself if I went to the bathroom again and it hadn't improved I'd go to the doctor. Fortunately next time I went to the bathroom it was normal color. I wasn't really sore, I never swelled up, and after that there were really no other symptoms.
Did I have mild rhabdo or was I just dehydrated? Just curious.

Blair, pretty sure everybody nuked them rebounding off the bottom, at least the people I spoke with.
If people really want to do box jumps there really is no issue with jumping up and stepping down. Might kill your "wod time"

I think there is a forum member on the CFboard, Jesse Gray? Anyways they believe that making sure you land on the box on the entire foot vs just the forefoot keeps you safer.
Dunno. If I remember Jesse is a S&C for UCDavis.

No one will ever know since you didn't get your creatine kinase levels tested... one of the symptoms fit but if you didn't experience any level of soreness or decrease in strength it was probably minor at worst..., but still.
