Pete's WL Journal
I thought I'd start a (b)log here, I've been a member of this forum for quite some time now. I'm going to be more active on this forum...because..well...I like it a lot!!!
Best lifts..
Snatch - 62k
C&J - 77k (I've cleaned and jerked 80 in training, but that doesn't count)
Front Squat 100k
Back Squat 130k
Body weight - 69kg (Dieting down towards 65'ish kg's.
Yesterdays workout 1/8/2011
Power Snatch 47.5kg x 3R x 5
Power Cln & Jrk 60kg x 3R x 5
Front Squat 80kg x 5R x 4
Snatch Balance - 30kg x 5R x 5
Bend overs (their like good mornings I guess) - 20kg x 3R x 6
It felt quite strange doing snatch balances towards the end of the session...it worked out nicely however...since I was pretty warm and ready to go after doing the heavier work. It's a totally different program than I've done in the past...it has more power work in it. I'm looking forward to seeing what I do in November (state championships). It'll hopefully be 70/95...if I work uber hard

Ahhhhhhh!!! The second day of my 'power cycle' and I'm already climbing the walls. Everything was super light tonight....so I sort of feel I didn't do anything productive. All my work was quick and smooth.
Full snatch 45k x 3R x 5
Power Snatch 50k x 2R x 5
Clean from lower boxes 50k x 3R x 2
Clean from higher boxes 50k x 3R x 2
Stop Back Squats 75k x 3R x 4, 60k x 3R x 1, 50k x 3R x 1, 40k x 3R x 1

Bit of a weird session this arvo.
Clean $ Jerk 60k x 3R x 5
Power Cleans 60k x 3R x 3
Clean Pulls 70 x 2R x 4
Back Squat 90 x 4R x 5, 80k x 3R x 1, 70k x 3R x 1, 60 x 3R x 1 40k x 3R x 1
I was taught a new approach with jerking tonight. The concept is to have your feet still hip width...but only flare the knees out when goin down. It made a noticeable difference on my power production.
With my next comp 2 weeks away...I'm keen to see what I'll do. Perhaps 65/80.

I've been playing with that as well. My jerk is so much farther behind my clean that something must be wrong with my technique....

Fantastic session this morning...we had some prodigal lifters in the gym which greatly improved the atmosphere :-D

Clean & Jerk 70k x 3R x 3
Back Squats 100 x 3R x 4
Stop & Breath Back Squats 60 x 4R x 4

Week 2
Once again...still working off a ground work program...
Power Snatch 42.5k x 3R x 6
Power Clean & Jerk 62.5k x 3R x 6
Front Squat 90k x 3R x 2, 80k x 5R x 3, 60k x 3R x 1
Snatch Balance 30k x 5R x 3, 32.5 x 3R x 2
Bend Overs bar x 3R x 6
I neglected to have my daily carbs pre training which made the training a bit difficult...but only a bit. All the sets & reps got in though. With the new foot work method that I picked up when jerking...being used for the snatch balances...I've gotten a lot quicker and more assertive!!
