I very much like your posts Derek.

I love ZMA. Every dream is like the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Mg or ZMA puts me out deep. I've never had vivid dreams. I feel I'm missing something good.

I have never watched that movie. Looks like I need to check it out. Last night I had a weird apocalyptic dream where we were in a cabin in the woods of northern Michigan without a lot of food for the winter. Definitely bizzarro world. But I woke up rested!

My normal workout partner couldn't train today. Luckily I had someone special ask to train.

D W/U
Juggernaut W/U
Foam Roll

FS 45 X 5 X 3, 95 X 3 X 2, 145 X 3 X 5
DL up to 225 X 3 X 3

My special guest worked up to a 100% BW FS on his first real session of FS'ing. Oh to be young and strong...

We did FS first and then transitioned to DL. Jr loves to DL but he was a little surprised about how it feels to DL after a squat session. He told me dad I am not as strong as normal. I said yeah that is the way it feels. He has a pretty decent start position. We are still working on a couple of little details.

We had a great time hanging out, listening to music and laughing at each other. Jr is going to be a really strong boy. His gymnastics days are rapidly coming to an end. The team he is on cut back their hours again and now he is only practicing 6 hours a week. Most level 6 gymnast practice north of 12 hours a week. He is going to compete this year but I am guessing this will be his last year. He already told me that he is ready to start olympic lifting with Coach Danny Carmago and training BJJ. We shall see what happens next.

Impressive FS and nice DL position. He's going to be an oly monster: the early gymnastics training will pay dividends.

03 December 2011 Saturday PM

We got a late start to BJJ but when I got there it was on like Donkey Kong! Guard pass and recovery drill guy on bottom had to have both hand thru their belt. Guy standing one hand thru their belt. Great drill and we did it line fashion with 30 people no rest. Then immediately went to a 4 position drill with takedowns, side control escape, mount escape and then live grappling. Did that for another 30 minutes and then free grappled for about 45 minutes. Good day and I was smoked when it was all over.

That would be awesome to get involved with Olympic lifting so young! Sounds like a very promising future!

So you want to hear something really funny? I sprained my left middle finger. Ask me how, go ahead I dare ya... I have no clue. But it is jacked up. The first knuckle is damn close to 1.5 times normal. Yeah that is great for traveling. It is kind of funny with the splint on it though.

Did a DB workout while watching Broncos on Sunday. Tebow has definitely made it interesting to watch them. Traveled like mad Monday, Negotiated my arse off on Tuesday and did a presentation for the entire SE region of a major company today. I am home and getting everything prepped for Tracy's surgery in the morning.

Good thoughts and any spare prayers are always welcome. Shouldn't be a big deal at all but it is still surgery. We are there at 05:00 and should be home by noon.

Going to sleep fast tonight.

Any surgery is no fun. Best wishes to Tracy and you.

Home from surgery and all is good. Doctor said it went better then he had hoped. There was some tearing in the cartilage in a place where he couldn't repair it but he was able to smooth it out so that there will be no catching on her femur. Pretty cool that when the surgery was done he could show me a print out with before and after pictures.

Not a lot of sleep last night but we are all good. Tracy is still feeling the effects of the surgical anesthesia so I am hoping her pain doesn't spike too much later in the day.

I am going to get a quick workout after I get the kids situated and be here for Tracy. All is good
