Default middle finger pain

I've been having pain with my right hand's middle finger when gripping weights for some time now. It is just under what I'd consider my max tolerance to be able to still lift. It's not an issue with pressing except when carrying heavy dumbells over to the bench. It also hurts when break open sealed bottles like pops/gatorades etc. It hurts right between the knuckle and the first joint in the middle finger, on the sides of the finger.

What could the problem be? It is not visibly swolen and does not hurt to touch any part of the finger in comparison to my pain-free left hand's middle finger.
