Default good shorts for lifting with minimal restriction on mobility

I've been browsing the web and went to my local sports store, and I cannot seem to find good shorts. I'm tight, and I'm working on that, but I cannot afford any restriction on my range of motion. I've been looking for mid thigh length stretchy shorts. And cannot find some like that. I'm considering compression shorts, but some of the ones I've seen like the rehband and body science ones are really expensive. I'm also considering a singlet, but dont know if it'd be a pain to deal with the top half or not: I've never worn one so I don't know what it feels like. I lift in a gym which is frequently empty ( no one there) and sometimes I just squat in my boxers, and I feel I perform better. Anyone have reccomendations for unrestrictive, flexible, inexpensive shorts? Thank you.

Just buy a good pair of regular compression shorts - not the Rehband Warm Shorts - just something in Lycra. A good place to shop is a Track and Field site like Everything Track and Field or MF Sports. Call it $30 or so.

Target carries mid thigh length compression shorts, and sevearl of the guys at my gym wear them. They are much less expensive than the Nike or other comparable ones.

These are the only shorts I lift in. They're just shorts, nothing fancy, but unless you feel an absolute need for compression shorts, these will do just fine. I haven't tried their compression shorts - http://www.ironmind-store.com/LRT-Co...ductinfo/1443/, but they're worth a try, for the price.
