Rickson always said if you want to work on attacks train without the GI and if you want to work on defense train with it.

Yeah, I train gi and no-gi, since both are necessary and valuable. Those short are just a bit over the top, though.

BTW, nice job on the SimpleFit site, Kevin.

Those shorts are pretty funny, personally i dont think i would wear them..

I rolled some no gi after doing exclusively gi for a few months, and i was suprised to notice the lack grips when working from the guard. Arm bars from bottom really suck no gi, as the guy just rips his arm out. Much better to go for sweeps and fight from top.

Its funny because when i first started grappling it was at a club that was almost all no gi, so i pretty much just did that. Then i moved to Oregon and joined Straight Blast and started doing more gi. At first i hated it because i couldn't move as fast but then i got a little more technical and now i prefer it. Offense is much harder without the gi. But i think it is important to train both.

Considering my line of work, I see GI or no GI, and I think "that's a serious question?!?".

However, in today's world of stomach stapling, gallbladder/appendix removal, gastric bypass, etc., I guess that the question I read is actually somewhat of a possibility.

Like the Quizno's commercial where the guy decided to stop eating and go all IV nutrition. No GI there...

No gi is much more fast paced than gi training and requires more stamina. The gi allows for more "technical" training and is probably the most important of the 2 if I had to pick.

With gi is way harder to move. I think both should be trained.
